I CAN

About a month ago, I have noticed my prayer time becoming more of a routine than a conversation with God about my feelings, my fears, and my dreams. My heart wasn’t there when I asked God for the blessing, for the forgiveness, and for the joy I longed for.

Intentional praying is what keeps us close to God. He wants our hearts, not our empty words! I have found myself being so dry with my prayers because I doubted God! I doubted His ability to do what I was asking Him to do. In the book of Mark, a man was asking Jesus to protect his son, “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”  If you can. ‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes” ( Mark 9:22-23).  The man had doubted what Christ can do, sounds familiar?! How often in life do we rely on something more than Jesus? How often do we not believe that he alone can do anything?

I want you to memorize this Bible verse: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. You can do anything and everything, through Jesus who’s got your back. You can achieve all of our wildest, craziest dreams that God has put in your heart, through Jesus. YOU don’t need to be strong to do this, you have Jesus for that. YOU are already have won all the battles you are fighting through Jesus. All you have to do, is believe! Have faith in the one whose strength will get you to the places you couldn’t even dream about. Have faith in the one who is fighting your battles, who is your main source of peace and victory. Have faith in Christ.

An Emotional Walk

Have you ever felt like you have wandered away from God so far, that there’s no possible way how you could find your way back to Him? Have you ever felt incapable to praise God due to the trials you were facing? My guess is that your answer is “yes” to both of these questions. And that’s okay! In fact, most of us feel this way at some point in our lives. Like we can’t seem to find God in the middle of our trials, like our heads are way too full with other things that we can’t seem to find the strength, the faith, the trust to praise God.

This month I have noticed that God had answered my prayers in the way that I never have thought he would. When I prayed for strength, God made my circumstances harder. When I prayed for faith, God arranged everything in the way that I could ONLY turn to Him for guidance. Yet in the middle of my trials, I couldn’t bring myself to open the Bible. I couldn’t bring myself to pray, to journal, to praise the Lord. I felt like there was no way how I could regain the relationship I had with Him. Each day I was either too busy, too tired, or too frustrated to speak to Him. And that’s when I realized that I put way too many emotions into my walk with the Lord.

Our walk with God should be unstoppable. God wants your heart in the middle of your busy day! God wants your heart when it’s broken the most. One way for us to show love to God is to walk in obedience, “And this is love: that we walk in obedience to His command” 2 John 1:6. When we praise the Lord, when we pray to Him, we are showing our faithfulness to Him. “Cast all your anxiety to Him because He cares for you” 1 Peter 5:7, God wants all of your burdens, all of your doubts, all of your fears. We serve a healing God, a loving God, a faithful God! He wants to bring you joy, all you have to do is ask, “ This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” 1 John 5:14. And guess what?! His will is for you to be HAPPY. “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart” Psalm 37:4. We are clearly told that all we need to do is to find joy in The Lord, and He will give us anything we could possibly want.

God is the creator of the world. He knew your name before you were even born. He loved you before you saw the light of the day. You are a child of God, and let me tell you, God NEVER abandons His children. No matter how far you think you have ran, your Heavenly Father is right behind you. So take a minute out of your day and pray. Tell God what has been on your mind. Know that He is the only one who can give you peace.

I pray that your walk with God will become more still. I pray that you will always choose to praise the Lord despite anything you may be facing. I pray that God will bless your heart the way you never thought He would.

His Timing>My Timing

Do you know those “Aha!” moments: when you finally realize why God has made you wait so long?! Those are the moments when His work is truly revealed to us, when He truly makes us understand that it’s all about HIS timing.

There have been so many times when I have prayed and received no answer. When I would cry out to God just to get silence in return. The wait is probably one of the most important trials in our journey. The wait strengthens  our faith in His goodness. The wait teaches us how to find joy in difficult circumstances. “He has made everything beautiful in its time” Ecclesiastes 3:11. Whatever you may be going through, He will work everything out according to His perfect time. After all, God knows you better than you know yourself, so if you feel like you’re ready, God may think otherwise.

However, that is a blessing in disguise because once he has answered your prayers, once he has finally delivered whatever you heart desired, you will realize that there was no better timing. It’s in those moments of fear and confusion where we learn about ourselves and about Him the most!

Trust in Him and be still. I know it’s easier said than done, trust me. There were so many times when I’d lay in my bed confused and mad at God. But now when I look back I realize how much He has taught me throughout my waiting season. He has made me so much more patient and humbled my heart. So go to bed tonight with a thankful heart and trust in HIS perfect timing.

Show Love

A couple weeks ago, my friend Isabel and I decided to start an encouragement group. We were sitting at lunch, diligently studying Chemistry when we started talking about the lack of encouragement we have been lately getting. The, we both looked at each other and exclaimed, “WE NEED TO START AN ECNOURAGEMENT GROUP!”.

There’s only five of us right now but we are really trying to grow it! We meet up once a week (usually at a local coffee shop) and talk about our struggles and everyday problems in a positive way. We offer each other advice and the much needed encouragement. How sweet is it, that despite all the stress that we face and things we have to do, we are still able to comfort and lift up each other.

In Mark 12:31, Jesus tells us, ” Love your neighbor as yourself”. The amount of compassion, respect, and love we hold for ourselves, we must show it to others as well. After all, how do we show somebody that we love and care about them?

When we show love towards others, towards our friends AND enemies, we become more and more like JESUS. The on who loves, the one who gives, the one who SAVES. Welcome everyone with a warm smile, ask strangers how their day is going, make somebody laugh, serve as a listening eat to somebody who needs it. An act of kindness is an act of LOVE. So I dare you to go out there, and love everyone.

We get by giving. We are loved when we love.

When You Are Down

Hello there, lovely people!!! Gosh, I am absolutely LOVING this weather! What a perfect time for candles, Hallmark movies, coffee, and yummy pies! I think I could sit in some cozy coffee shop for hours and love every second of it!

One thing to know about me is that I am a complete coffee freak. I can never leave my house without a coffee mug, and my idea of “hanging out with friends” is going to a coffee shop. My favorite way to make coffee at home is using a coffee press. First, you are supposed pour hot water into the coffee press, and then you add the ground coffee beans. You will find that the coffee beans do not mix with the water and are just chilling on top of the water, suong the plunge, you’re supposed to press down on the beans to get them all the way to the bottom. For the coffee to taste its best, it’s crucial that you get the coffee beans all the way down.

How often in life do we feel like we have reached our bottom? The enemy seems to be pressing down on us, harder and harder. Whatever it may be: school, work, maybe an argument with a friend, or a loss of a loved one, can all get us to our lowest point of our lives. Yet, it’s in the valley where we are made, where we truly find ourselves, and search for God like crazy.

James 1:2 says, “Consider it pure joy my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perserverance”. In return for our pain, our trials, problems, and unhappiness, we get perseverance. We are given strength and grace to keep going. God shows us that even during our lowest points, we can make something beautiful. “Be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near” (James 5:8). The Lord wants to be with us, all we need to do is reach for Him! My lock screen says, “but first, pray”. Whenever I’m having a bad day, before I go and complain about it to somebody, I look at my lock screen and pray, because God is the only one who is in control. A prayer can do so much, you are always heard.

So when life pushes you down, squeezes your best out of you, remember that your faith is being tested, remember what a beautiful outcome your suffering will give you, and remember to pray about it first. I hope all of you will have an amazing week!

Give Him Your All

As I was reading my daily devotional, I felt one verse truly speak to me,“ Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans” Proverbs 16:3.

Life is a beautiful ride and can get crazy at times. We’re all at different stages of our lives. We all face different every-day challenges. Whether it’s getting into a disagreement with your co-worker, not understand a certain concept at school, or a hard season in a relationship. Whatever it may be, during those times it’s easy to forget who God wants you to be.

Showing commitment is different for everyone. I believe that God doesn’t want much for us. He wants us to be grateful, kind, loving, forgiving, and faithful. After all, don’t we all want to obtain those qualities? As for me, I have found that it’s been difficult for me to show a full commitment towards Him. I’ve been neglecting to open up my BIble when I was in need of comfort, acting different to attract certain people, and so on. It’s hard to find God in the places where He doesn’t want you to be. Last night I spilt my heart out to Him for the first time in awhile, I told Him about my worries, my fears, my sins, everything. It has striked me that one of the ways I can show commitment to Him is to be the best version of myself and surround myself with those who can help me do just that. For all I know this could be the start of something new: new friendships, new hobbies, and more self-discovery.

Commitment can be a frightening concept for some people, yet all our God wants is for us to try to be better each day. Use your words to heal, control your thoughts, and stay true to your heart. His love will always be with you, it’s up to you to feel it.

“…and He will establish your plans”, He will give you all that your soul desires once you will realize that He is all we truly need. Give Him your heart, and He will show you all the wonders of the world.

Slow Down

Hello, everyone! It’s been a hot minute since I have posted on here. My backpack got heavier, the to-do list became twice as longer, and my sleeping schedule  is more messed up than it has ever been.

It’s my junior year of high school, and well, I guess nobody truly prepared me for how insanely busy and stressful this year is going to be. Chemistry is  consuming my life, and every other person asks me what I want to do after high school.

These past three weeks have really gotten the best of me. I realized that I have no clue what I want to do or what I’m good at. I have no clue what college I want to go to. I have no clue what the future holds. On top of that, I can’t feel God’s presence. Where is He? Why isn’t He guiding me? Why is He not helping me to be more Christ-like?

Yet He wakes me up each day with purpose. He loves me at my messiest times. He forgives my continues sins. He’s there, I just need to slow down and reach out to Him.

When life gets hectic, it’s so easy to abandon Him, it’s so easy to get mad at Him for making you wait, for not answering to your prayers. However, if you will open up the Bible, you will find the truth. You will find that He loves, He cares, He encourages, He forgives. You are a work in progress that was being created in His faithfulness.

Slow down. Take a deep breath and know that tomorrow holds many promises. Slow down and look around you. Fall in love with being in the moment, smile about the little things. Everyday, do something for yourself. Whether it’s treating yourself to some ice cream or just going to bed earlier, take care of yourself.

Remember who you are and whose you are. Try to see yourself through Jesus’s eyes.

Slow down and smile.
